The BNP win another council seat. Just what we need. More bigots. The reason they are winning the seats isn't because the UK is moving to the right and becoming more racist. it's becuase the main parties cannot enagaed the disenfranchised, the apathetic and the uninterested. The BNP can and will. They aren't the right answer, but they can make voters turn out and beleive they are. 39% of the people in the area voted. 61% of the local voters do not care enough to vote. That is the true result, that is the failure for the Labour government. 2000 people don't believe there is any point in voiting. Well done.

So whats going on? This is our winter of discontent. Fire Brigade on strike. Postal workers on Strike. Underground workers, going out because of safety fears. The last labour government fell apart as it couldn't deal with labour disputes (oh the irony). Blair is likely to do the same. Meanwhile Red Ken has a long way to go to sort out Transport in London, which is currently a joke. Not enough buses, the roads are jammed across the region and the conjestion charge isn't popular. personally i welcome it if it gets cars of the road and makes my bus journeys easier. If they do become easier.
